ARGENTINA LEADER IN BEEF EXPORTATION AND MEAT PRODUCTION

Meat Exports – World-Class Quality.

COTO’s commitment to flavor and quality in exports makes the company more than just a meat marketer. For many years, COTO has been responsible for transporting the country’s finest cuts of the world’s best meat to different parts of the planet: Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Great Britain, Spain, France, Russia, Hong Kong, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and non-traditional markets such as Egypt, Algeria, Ukraine, Bosnia, and Croatia. Maintaining trade with these countries requires COTO to implement an intensive daily Quality Control program and experience that allows it to work according to the diverse requirements of its international clients. By meeting these requirements in an outstanding manner, COTO has earned an international reputation in meat exports. A clear example of this reputation is seen in COTO’s ability to access the Hilton Quota.

This allows COTO to maintain fluid trade relations with the European Union. The international benefits offered to COTO demonstrate how important the company is when it comes to supplying meat to different world markets.

These achievements can only be achieved through the purchase of selected steers with the best genetic foundation, mostly Aberdeen Angus, fed on the natural pastures that characterize one of our country’s most important heritage sites. The boning process, another important step in preparing merchandise for export, is carried out under an exhaustive verification and control process by the company, always within its export cold storage facility certified under ISO 9000 standards.

MORE THAN 50 YEARS AGO

COTO: a beef company that exports,
A COUNTRY THAT GROWS.

Alfredo Coto began his journey more than half a century ago by opening his first butcher shop with a modern overhead butchering system and visible cuts. Today, COTO is much more than a supermarket; it’s an Argentine company that exports worldwide.

FAQs

Q Export development

COTO leads the domestic market based on the importance it has placed on generating added value in marketing over the years. With this same added value as a premise, it set out to expand to the rest of the world. Today, COTO is a company that strives to strengthen its export strategy.

COTO in the world.

One of the keys to COTO's success is its policy of continuous expansion. This led it to plan not only for the domestic market but also for the international market. For this reason, in the late 1990s, COTO initiated a strong export policy, achieving a marked leadership in the export of beef, Hilton and non-Hilton cuts, and finished and semi-finished leathers for footwear and household upholstery.

Q COTO's production chain.

Meat and leather processing begins with the purchase of livestock (70% of which is done directly from field producers). The slaughter processes (for obtaining hides and meat) are then carried out in our own meat processing plants. The meat processing process ends after rigorous quality controls have been carried out and the cuts have been packaged for subsequent export (either chilled or frozen). In the case of hides, once the slaughter is completed, they are transported to the tannery, where, after the tanning process, semi-finished or finished hides are obtained for export. COTO is present throughout these processes, supervising, controlling, and training.

Q Distribution and processing center

Supplying more than a hundred branches in so many different locations across the country, offering the widest variety of products at the best prices, would be impossible without centralized reception, distribution, and processing.
That's why COTO has its own Distribution and Processing Center in the Esteban Echeverría district, covering 110,000 m2 on a plot of land.

Over 65 hectares, it is the largest in Latin America. There, we find large storage areas, as well as our own fruit and vegetable ripening facility and pasta factory, all equipped with the latest technology.
